Funding Academic Research at Wharton
The Mack Institute is a major funder of scholarly work at Wharton. Since 2001, we have provided to faculty and PhD students over $4.5 million in funding toward more than 600 projects that advance our four research priorities. The result is a cross-industry body of research covering paradigm-shifting technologies and innovation strategies.
White Papers and Books
We bring cutting-edge Wharton research to an audience of business practitioners with white papers on topics related to emerging technologies and strategies for innovation management. We also support and promote books by Wharton faculty written for industry audiences.
Research Opportunities
Each year, the Mack Institute provides fellowships for students and early-career researchers interested in innovation management. This includes a two-year predoctoral program for recent graduates and semester-long research assistantships for current Wharton and Penn students. Occasionally, we have sponsored postdoctoral students.
Knowledge-Sharing and Research Translation
We bring research beyond the university walls by forging connections between Wharton researchers and business practitioners. Our Corporate Partner Network convenes experts in academia and industry to share knowledge, develop programs, and create initiatives that mutually advance the study and practice of innovation management.
