2021 Citi x Mack Institute Case Competition

CitiIn collaboration with Citi, the Mack Institute presents a one-week virtual case competition, March 19–26, 2021.

We invite current University of Pennsylvania freshmen and sophomores to solve a real-world business challenge at Citi with finance, technology, and strategy themes. The business case will be provided by Citi’s Sales & Trading (S&T) division. The details of the challenge will be announced at the Kickoff on March 19, 2021. This competition offers students exposure to the financial services industry, and an opportunity to hear from Citi’s senior leaders, network with Penn alumni at Citi, and learn more about careers at the company.

Eligibility & Signup

The competition is open to all current University of Pennsylvania freshmen and sophomores. All majors are welcome. You do not need to have a team formed prior to registering. Recommended team size is two to four students. Sign up for the competition through the Citi Careers platform (resume upload required). If you have questions, please email the Citi University Partnerships in Innovation and Discovery (CUPID) program team.

  • 1st Prize Team: Apple Airpod Pros
  • 2nd Prize Team: Beats Pill+
  • 3rd Prize Team: 4th Generation Echo

Every winning team member receives respective prize (4 students per team maximum)

Submission & Judging

Teams must email their submission (PDF or PPT) to Citi by 11:59 p.m. EDT on March 25, 2021. Top teams will be selected to present for 3-5 minutes at the final awards event on Friday, March 26, 2021, 2–3 p.m. EDT. (Please do not register for this event if you are unable to attend the final presentation event.) Citi judges will determine the winning teams.
