Student Event: Amazon to Philadelphia Case Competition

October 13, 2017

Friday, October 13 | 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM EDT
Hoover Lounge, Vance Hall

Amazon is looking for proposals from North American cities on where to build their second headquarters and Philadelphia is in the running as a strong candidate. This event is a case competition co-sponsored by the Mack Institute for teams of Penn undergraduate, graduate, and MBA students to analyze why Amazon should locate their new headquarters in Philadelphia.

Student teams entered under one of these subtopics:

  • Financial and tax incentives
  • Talent base and employee life incentives
  • Strategic tech-focused incentives
  • Current and new legal incentives

One finalist team will be chosen from each sub-topic by the judging professors. A single team will be chosen as the overall winner amongst the four finalist teams. Finalist teams will deliver a seven minute presentation to an audience including Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney.
